Adam Mims

Adam Mims Net Worth: $5 Million

Adam Mims was an outstanding wide receiver at Furman, breaking both single-season and career reception records and setting career receiving yardage records for single seasons and all time.

After spending two seasons as Marques Hagans’ backup, he was given an opportunity to assume starting duties last season – only for him not to live up to expectations.

Early Life and Education

Adam Mims was raised in Birmingham, Ala. He graduated from Furman University with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science in May 2011. While at Furman he earned three All-SoCon wide receiver honors as well as becoming its all-time leader for receptions (198) and receiving yards (2,433).

Mims graduated and signed free agent contracts with both the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011 and Montreal Alouettes in 2012 as a wide receiver, also coaching Paladins’ wide receivers during his professional career.

Scientific American editor Jonathan Piel informed Mims that any writing outside the magazine that might embarrass Scientific American was strictly forbidden and, should he fail to comply, his column or pay would be denied or reduced accordingly.

Professional Career

Adam Mims was an offensive analyst for one year at Samford University before going professional.

Mims was honored to receive three All-SoCon selections as both a return specialist and wide receiver at Furman University, becoming its record holder for both receptions (198) and receiving yards (2,433) during his academic career.

Elliott quickly promoted Mims to wide receiver coach after Marques Hagans left for Penn State this past week to take the same role. Mims previously served three seasons at UT-Chattanooga as wide receiver coach and helped two All-SoCon receivers (Reginald Henderson in 2020-2021 and Bryce Nunnelly in 2019) become All-SoCon performers under his tutelage.

Achievement and Honors

Mims was a true two-way player in high school, excelling both as quarterback and running back to lead Brunswick to its state title game as a senior. He amassed nearly 600 yards rushing while also completing almost 50% of his passes.

He earned two All-Metro recognitions and was honored as Area Player of the Year as a senior. Additionally, he led his team to an 81-4 varsity record and served as state tournament MVP.

He spent three seasons as wide receivers coach at UT-Chattanooga and trained two all-conference receivers: Reginald Henderson and Bryce Nunnelly.

Personal Life

Mims joined Tony Elliott’s staff at UVA last season after three years as wide receiver coach and passing game coordinator at UT-Chattanooga. Additionally, in 2018 he coached wide receivers at Tennessee Tech before serving as offensive analyst at Samford from 2015-2017.

He and Elliott share an enduring bond; former Furman star Elliott served as his receiver coach while coaching him there, so it makes sense that Elliott chose him as his wide receiver coach.

Jets receiver Eric Decker has been one of their shining lights during the second half of the season, making 19 catches for 324 yards across six games and scoring five touchdowns. Now facing Seattle this Sunday in search of their inaugural victory of 2017, New York needs Decker to step up as it seeks its first win since Week 1.

Net Worth

Adam Mims is an American football player currently employed as the linebackers’ coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Born January 13th 1984 he has amassed an estimated net worth of $5 Million.

He was born in Dangerfield, Texas and played wide receiver for Baylor University from 2006-2010 before signing as a free agent with Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011.

He served as wide receiver for the Furman Paladins football team from 2008 to 2011; setting career records in receptions (198), receiving yards (2,433) and touchdown receptions (13) during that time. Upon graduating from Furman with a degree in health and exercise science in 2011, he held single season reception records of 74 as well as being selected to the NFL Pro Bowl and winning numerous awards such as Jim Thorpe Award and Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor memberships.
