Rachael Adams Net Worth
Adams became Lafayette’s inaugural head volleyball coach in 2019, leading them to win more matches and earn their highest seed at the Patriot League Tournament. She even helped one of her players earn recognition as Patriot League Player of the Year!
Early Life and Education
Adams graduated from University of Central Florida where she played on their women’s volleyball team. During her time there, she won two state titles and three All-State honors; additionally she received Coach Dick Serrano Spirit of Dons award as well as being included on Union Tribune All-Academic team.
Radford Highlanders head coach Amanda Ogilvie credited her as an integral factor in leading them to their first 20+ win season since 2008 in 2013. Additionally, she founded Beach Elite Volleyball Club of Virginia Beach where she led both 17’s and 18’s teams – one qualifying for USA Nationals Championship.
Adams hails from La Jolla, California where she excelled as a two-sport high school athlete competing in basketball and volleyball. Now residing in Williamsburg with her husband.
Professional Career
After years of competing at an elite level in volleyball, Rachael Adams turned her talents towards coaching. She has led multiple club teams – one reaching nationals.
She has served as an assistant coach with the Lafayette Leopards volleyball program for several years and helped countless players earn recognition both on and off the court.
Adams held the team captain position during her four-year career at University of Wisconsin-Parkside and graduated with both a bachelor’s and master’s in sport management degrees. She currently works for Austin Performance Volleyball Club as their Sand Coordinator/Coach, but she has previously coached for Club ZZU Idaho, Foster High School of Washington state, Twin Lakes Volleyball Club of Tacoma Washington as well as Twin Lakes Volleyball Club Tacoma Washington.
Achievement and Honors
Adams excelled in multiple sports at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs and earned all-state academic and all-region honors for volleyball and swimming & diving skills. Her team won the metro league championship while she was named Most Improved Player as a senior.
Adams led Radford University volleyball to its inaugural NCAA Tournament appearance ever in 2017. Under Adams’ tutelage, Radford won 25 matches – 14 five-setters included! – and claimed four victories over Power Five opponents.
Under Adams’ tutelage, Radford won Patriot League coach of the year for a fourth time. Leanna Deegan won player of the year honors while Katie Forsythe earned libero of the year honors. Other major award recipients were Army West Point setter Julia Kurowski from Colgate middle blocker Madi Wahrmund and Navy opposite hitter Avery Stowell.
Personal Life
Adams served during her one year at Parkside as an intern to the associate athletic director for advancement and partnerships, while working on facilities and event operations staff and being responsible for team jerseys and equipment management.
She led her team to a state finals appearance in 2015 and was recognized with Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association All-State honors as well as two-time AVCA Phenom List selection.
She has worked extensively as a juniors coach with Tidewater Volleyball Association’s 13, 14 and 15 age group teams at TVA; one squad qualifying for nationals during her time coaching there. In addition, she assisted at USA High Performance tryouts.
