Peggy Lipton was born on August 30, 1946 in New York City, NY. She was raised in a Jewish household, and spent her formative years in the northeastern United States. She attended a prestigious private school in Manhattan, and moved with her family to Los Angeles when she was fifteen. She later made a splash as a model in the late 1960s. In her teens, she began appearing in a number of television shows, including The John Forsythe Show and Popular. She even had a starring role in the short-lived TV series, The Mod Squad.

Among her most notable accomplishments, Peggy was also a noted author. She wrote several books, some of which have been adapted into motion pictures. She is also a devoted music lover. She is a proud owner of a piano, and an eclectic collection of other musical accoutrements. As of this writing, Peggy has two children, one of whom she shares with husband Quincy Jones. Despite the couple’s divorce in 1990, Lipton was still very much involved in her music career. She also starred in the movie Blue with Karl Malden.
