Early Life and Education

He leaves behind his beloved wife Anne as well as three daughters: Kathleen Ecker of Elkhart; Elizabeth (deceased Michael Birchfield, Washington State); Virginia Chiamulera of South Bend and Sean Hilgendorf from Niles; as well as grandsons Michelle Seramur of Valparaiso and D.J. Seramur from Niles as well as Cole and Fallon Hilgendorf of Niles; also many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

Geoscientists Cowan and Seramur, of Boone-based Seramur and Associates, brought magnetometry and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment to Ferguson site – technologies which measure differences in magnetic properties to locate structures – to assist with identification.
