Benjamin Widrick, 24, Arrested on Three Counts of Statutory Rape
GALLATIN, Tenn. — An intern from Long Hollow Baptist Church was arrested last summer on three counts of statutory rape against church minors at its Gallatin campus during her 10-week service period with student team, according to Pastor Robby Gallaty. Gallaty believes this occurred during her 10-week service period with student team at Gallatin campus last summer.
Early Life and Education
At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and joined the Mennonite Church. Active and enthusiastic about its program, he faithfully attended until his last illness struck. Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, one son, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; in addition, one sister, two brothers, as well as both sets of parents had preceded him in death.
GALLATIN, Tenn. — Long Hollow Baptist Church announced on Sunday that a former intern has been charged with three counts of statutory rape and has been arrested. The 24-year-old intern served at their Gallatin campus during summer 2018 for 10 weeks as per their pastor’s statement.

Benjamin Widrick, 24, from Camillus has been charged in Tennessee with three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure – defined as sexual intercourse between an authority figure and someone aged 13-17 years.
Senior Pastor Robby Gallaty posted a statement on their church website Sunday alleging the incident happened during Widrick’s 10-week internship last summer at Gallatin campus and that the former intern was involved with their student team. Gallaty explained “that details remain uncertain at this point”

Outside her marriage, she leaves two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews behind. Duane Farney and Floyd Graves will officiate the funeral, with burial set for Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Croghan in spring.

Benjamin Widrick was charged with the statutory rape of an intern student from Liberty University studying pastoral leadership. It allegedly occurred last summer during his internship at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Pastor Robby Gallaty issued a statement Sunday afternoon confirming the incident. He noted hearing reports about it since December. Immediately upon hearing of such claims he immediately reported them both to Gallatin Police Department and to church leadership teams for action to be taken.
