Frank Cramer founded Manzanita Hall at Stanford University’s first president David Starr Jordan’s request as a college preparatory school for boys in 1893; later Catherine Harker established Miss Harker’s School for Girls as part of her initiative for social equality in 1902.

In 1972, three schools merged to form The Harker School and relocated to its current location on 500 Saratoga Avenue in San Jose, California. Later on in 1998, however, an upper school was reinstated under its original name but with new administration (PAMA). Bucknall Campus houses Lower School activities while Union and Saratoga campuses contain Middle and Upper schools respectively.

Dan Harker is a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty in Dallas and a member of the EmpowerHome Team in Texas. He helps clients buy and sell homes smoothly while coaching other agents on topics like lead conversion, agent productivity and more.

He began his career in logistics within the chemical industry before progressing through to become CEO of Pittsburgh-based Calgon and eventually serving as global manufacturing and purchasing head for Nalco before their initial public offering (IPO).

He holds a Bachelor’s of Fire Science, in addition to various professional certifications such as Chief Fire Officer, Company Officer, Driver Operator, Hazardous Materials Technician and Emergency Medical Technician. Furthermore, sports and nature photography is his passion.

Harker has been impressive on the baseball field this year. With a 2.07 earned run average and 10 strikeouts on his 10 appearances so far, Harker stands as a clear team leader when it comes to striking out opposition batters.

Harker students were recognized at the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Competition with multiple awards, led by Dominique Dabija’s first place win in Computers/Mathematics category and second in Individual Project subcategory; senior Andrew Stanek and Peter Gao both also won awards, with Gao also taking home second place honors in Technical Paper subcategory.

Student was also recognized with winning one of only 30 nationwide winners of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship – offering up to $90,000.

Personal Life

Dan Harker is an EmpowerHome Team lead at Keller Williams Realty and has won multiple awards and recognitions including Rookie of the Month from Real Estate Business Magazine and Realtor Business Magazine. Additionally, he serves as a Keller Williams MAPS coach as well as teaching real estate seminars.

Danielle Harker is one of Lucy Dixon’s characters on Waterloo Road who first made an appearance in Series 3. Danielle is Aleesha Dillon’s best friend and is shown to care more about looking good than working hard in school.

Dan and Karla began volunteering in Awana shortly after they got married, and have remained involved ever since. For them, Awana is the most meaningful ministry they are involved with – providing fun games while building relationships while teaching God’s Word!
