Daniel McGary serves as Executive Head Chef for Royal Lancaster London hotel and oversees all its restaurants such as LANG – a deli and patisserie; TING – a British restaurant with Asian influences; and GONG – the highest hotel bar in Western Europe.

Early Life and Education
Daniel is a Hebrew given name and surname that translates to “God Is My Judge,” taking its origins from the Book of Daniel and also used for other biblical figures. Daniel family has lived in America for over 200 years and are well known for their generous spirit in contributing to society.
McGarey-Vasey has taught at Salpointe Catholic High School for more than four decades, helping her students develop an understanding of Catholic ethics as an avenue for discernment when responding to God’s love. She also stresses the significance of environmental justice and Carmelite mission in her curriculum.
At Metropolitan Congregations United of St Louis, she serves on several teams such as Environmental Justice team, Communication team, Money team and School-to-Prison Pipeline team. As a writer and activist who fights for children and families’ rights.

Daniel McGarey graduated with honors from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in 2006. Since then, he has held positions at many renowned hotels and restaurants including One Aldwych, Hotel Du Vin in Tunbridge Wells, Galvin at Windows, Hilton Park Lane Hotel, and Plateau Canary Wharf.
He teaches theology and humanities at Salpointe Catholic High School, specialising in Catholic ethics as an aid in understanding how we respond to God’s love in action. Additionally, he helped the Carmelite NGO develop their curriculum on Laudato Si’.
McGarey oversees three hotel services at Royal Lancaster London: LANG (24-hour in-room dining service); TING (a British restaurant with Asian influences); and GONG (Europe’s highest hotel bar). He employs 70 staffers.
