He is an expert in computer hardware, software and algorithms – particularly systems software and mathematically-intensive computation. He is a frequent author and lecturer on patent and administrative law matters as well as having taught at M.I.T. Laboratory for Computer Science on compiler construction techniques.

He has extensive experience representing inventors, investors, startups and established companies in all facets of intellectual property law. This representation includes patent prosecution, licensing, counseling to avoid litigation, opinions, financing transactions and public offering transactions as well as due diligence on acquisitions and spin-offs.

Boody was an acclaimed New York politician and entrepreneur, serving as Mayor of Brooklyn, delegate to the Democratic National Conventions, and United States Representative for the second district of New York.

He was a highly-regarded patent attorney, representing clients in patent prosecution, licensing, counseling to avoid litigation, opinions, financing and public offering transactions, acquisitions and spinoffs.

He also has extensive expertise in administrative law, including PTAB trials and appeals. He led teams that successfully quash the Patent Office’s 2006-09 Continuations, 5/25 claims, information disclosure statements and appeal regulations under the Paperwork Reduction Act. Furthermore, he consulted on comment letters and legal challenges to other rules. His expertise has been featured by local, trade and national media outlets.
