David Bouvier has striven for success throughout his career. After earning a scholarship to play basketball at Kentucky, the former walk-on has achieved great success.

He was an integral part of UK’s 10-win, Citrus Bowl champion team as both wide receiver and punt returner. His success on and off the field has been recognized with numerous awards.

Early Life and Education

Bouvier was born on July 28, 1929 in Southampton, Long Island, New York to wealthy Wall Street stockbroker John Vernou Bouvier III and his wife Janet Norton Lee.

Her father’s family had immigrated from France in the early 1800s, while her mother was from Ireland. Throughout her childhood years, she spent time at various family estates in New York City and East Hampton.

At 15 years old, she attended Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut and then continued onto Vassar College where she earned a place on the dean’s list.

Professional Career

David Bouvier has been in the industry since he was ten, but is still searching for the ideal job. With a degree in physics and minor in entrepreneurship under his belt, he’s looking to make his mark on business. Achievement and Honors

Bouvier began his college career as a walk-on and eventually earned a scholarship in 2018. This season he had an immense impact on Kentucky’s 10-win, Citrus Bowl champion team as both wide receiver and punt returner.

He earned the title of offensive coordinator’s MVP during preseason camp and caught Kentucky’s only pass against Florida in their season opener. These performances propelled him to the top of UK’s receiving rankings for this year, and his impact has only grown as the Cats have gone on to win their first two games this year.

Bouvier was also named a nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the best football player who began their career as a walk-on. Beyond his playing accomplishments, Bouvier has also demonstrated great academic promise by being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Personal Life

Bouvier was married to Lachelle Farrar and fathered two daughters. A truck driver by profession, he enjoyed collecting coins.

Bouvier is best known for founding the band Simple Plan with Chuck Comeau and Jeff Stinco. Additionally, he hosted a reality show called Damage Control on TLC.

Bouvier was not only a successful musician, but an ardent philanthropist as well. He helped found several charities, such as the Huntington Library.
