Last week, Johnathan Croom, 18, vanished after visiting a friend in Seattle. He had been scheduled to begin college in Arizona that fall.

David Croom is an Associate Director with Ascend at the Aspen Institute and leads their Postsecondary Success for Parents initiative. David Croom has made a lasting impact in education throughout his career. He currently serves on the Community College Women Succeed Advisory Council and as Assistant Director for Postsecondary Achievement and Innovation at Aspen Ascend.

He is a former football player at the University of Alabama, where he earned SEC and national championships in 1973. Additionally, he was named an UPI All-American in 1974.

After a brief career as an NFL assistant coach, he took the helm at Mississippi State in 2004 and within three years earned himself the title of SEC Coach of the Year.
