Tolson has been in the financial services industry for more than 18 years and is currently employed by Arete Advisors in Houston, Texas.

David Tolson was an esteemed professor of law and history at Langston University in Oklahoma City, a historically black college. Over his career, Tolson has published numerous articles on value investing, investment banking and managing organizations (and is the author of Harvest). Additionally, he has developed educational materials for young adults on financial literacy.
Tolson also established a wealth advisory practice within his investment bank. At present, his firm manages over $500 million worth of assets and provides advice to an additional $1.8 billion of clients.
