Eddie Bauer Two Tone Down Jacket

Eddie Bauer Two Tone Down Jacket Review

The Eddie Bauer two tone down jacket is a perfect choice for the fashion-forward adventurer. Its polyester ripstop shell is finished with StormRepel technology, which repels rain and snow so you stay fully protected when you’re out and about. And it’s topped with 800-fill RDS-certified goose down, so you can be sure your jacket is warm and dry all day long!

Unlike the other down jackets on our list, the Eddie Bauer EverTherm uses seamless sheets of down instead of baffles or channels that trap air and hold the feathers in place. That means it’s not as puffy as a traditional down jacket, but it’s also much lighter.

This is a good thing, because it saves you weight. But it also means that the jacket doesn’t have the same insulation value as other, higher-end down coats, like Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero or Feathered Friends Icefall or Frontpoint.

That’s not to say this jacket isn’t an incredible buy, however. For example, it’s only $450 right now on sale, so it’s a great deal for someone who wants the warmth of a down jacket without the super-premium price tag.

Another key feature of this jacket is that it’s designed for travel, so it’s very packable and stows away in one of its own pockets! It’s available in a variety of colors and is available in regular (XS-XXL), petite (XS-XL), tall (S-XXL) and plus sizes (1X-3X).

The hood also helps keep your head insulated. It’s adjustable and has enough room for a thick hat, but it doesn’t leave any space so that your bare face is cold.

You can even fold down the hood, which makes it easy to pack in your luggage. This is a big plus for travel, and it’s an important feature to have if you’re planning a trip that includes rain or snow.

It’s also worth noting that this jacket is made with ethically sourced down, so it’s an ethical choice for those who care about that issue. The down is RDS-certified, meaning it’s responsibly sourced and free of any animals used in its production.

Aside from the hood, this jacket has plenty of other features to help you stay warm. It has a windproof shell, a detachable hood that can be zipped up for extra protection from the elements, and a zippered pocket on the inside of the hood that allows you to store your hands. It also comes in a range of different colors, so you can customize it to your taste!

The best thing about this jacket is that it’s lightweight. The down fill is actually quite light, weighing in at just 193 g.

That’s about 8 ounces less than the other down jackets on our list, so you won’t feel overly heavy when wearing it. The fabric is also breathable and waterproof, so you won’t be sweating in it when you’re outdoors.

This is one of the most stylish down jackets we’ve reviewed so far, and it looks really sharp, too! The down is a nice sheen, and it’s backed by a metal zipper that adds a touch of metallic color. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it’s an impressive jacket that should last for years.
