Genie Exum Arrested for Stabbing Her Boyfriend

During an argument, Genie Exum allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in their home in New York City. She was arrested on October 18, 2021. She faces charges of assault with a weapon, a class D felony.

A 30-year-old man reported the assault to the police. The man said he was stabbed twice during the fight. He went to Bellevue Hospital to receive stitches. He is now in stable condition. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

After the stabbing, the surviving victim went downstairs and was taken to the emergency room. He was reportedly in need of three or four stitches. His wound was superficial. He was later transferred to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue facility, where he is in stable condition. He will be required to remain away from the suspect.

The judge ordered a no contact order against Exum, meaning she must stay away from her alleged attacker, Frances Amor, aka Babyboy Pajules. The order of protection was issued by Justice Michael Gaffey. The judge said that Exum had no criminal record and he sided with her defense. The court clerk also said that the judge did not consider the allegations to be serious.

The defendant’s defender, Brooke Quincy Meyers, is a member of the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. She did not return requests for comment.

The New York Police Department confirmed the arrest. A spokesperson for the department told The Independent that Exum is due in court on December 1. However, court documents show that her defender has not been listed in court documents. The defendant has not updated her social media account since her arrest.
