George Kadifa is a managing director for Sumeru Equity Partners with three decades of expertise in the technology sector. Previously, he served as executive vice president, Strategic Relationships at HP.

He was responsible for leading growth initiatives and alliance programs with key partners, service providers and customers. Furthermore, he directed HP’s $4 billion software business which encompassed IT/Cloud Operations Management, Application Delivery Management, Enterprise Security and HP Big Data.

Early Life and Education

George Kadifa earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from Caltech in 1982 and has since held executive leadership roles at numerous technology companies such as IBM, Corio Corporation (founder), Oracle and Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp.

He served as an Operating Partner at Silver Lake, a global technology investment firm. In this capacity he was accountable for driving growth and operational improvement across numerous enterprises within Silver Lake’s large-cap investment fund portfolio.

He is currently the managing director and co-founder of Sumeru Equity Partners, a technology private equity firm that invests in software. Prior to this he was an executive vice president/general manager at HP Software, member of Hewlett-Packard Company’s Executive Council, as well as an operating partner at Silver Lake Partners.

Kadifa was appointed Executive Vice President and Head of HP’s Software Business in June, joining the company’s executive council as well.

Kadifa enjoys playing chess and taking walks on the beach with his wife Sally in his free time. Together they have five children, including James who is in an undergraduate program at Stanford University.
