George Mayer is a multi-award winning photographer, designer and artist renowned for his use of light and shadow in his artwork.

He is a member of the Union of Russian Art Photographers and has earned many international photography awards. His works have been displayed in galleries worldwide as well as being featured on television shows.

Early Life and Education

George Mayer was born in Gyor, Hungary and studied art at Vienna and Munich before emigrating to England in 1938. There he became a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool College of Art.

He is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Global Projects and Infrastructure practices as well as Asset Finance. Based in New York City, he also co-leads the Japan Client Initiative of the firm.

George Mayer is a Russian photographer, designer and artist whose works have earned him many international accolades. His projects have been showcased in Kazan, Moscow and Marsciano (Italy).

He has won multiple photography competitions such as the esteemed Spider Awards in America, International Photography Awards at Carnegie Hall and Sony World Photography Awards. Additionally, his works are published in numerous specialized European editions about photography.

He was named to the inaugural All-Western New York Boys Basketball team in 1959 and his values of sportsmanship, humility and teamwork have remained with him ever since. These traits fuel his drive to excel and serve others through art, business and community service projects – testament to his devotion to these principles.

Personal Life

George Mayer was an internationally-renowned painter and mosaicist who worked in oil, watercolour and graphics. During the First and Second World Wars, his artistic talent earned him the opportunity to emigrate to England.

On August 8th 1960 in Liverpool, England, he passed away. His mosaic work includes Pentecost which now adorns the Chapel of Unity at Christ the King Metropolitan Cathedral in Liverpool.

He designed an array of murals. Tragically, his home/studio in St John’s Wood, London was bombed during the Blitz and much of his artwork was destroyed; however, he was determined to rebuild it.
