Henry Chuang is an accomplished college volleyball coach who led Saint Francis men’s volleyball to win Division I national title in 2004. Additionally, he spent several years coaching junior club teams in Germany.
The evidence provides evidence in support of Chuangs’ contention that Davis engaged in unlawful discrimination by forcibly moving their laboratory space, with Davis’ explanations appearing pretextual.
Early Life and Education
Henry Chuang was born in Hong Kong and relocated to Toronto as an adult. He became a Christian while in his early twenties and studied pastoral studies and missions at seminary later on; ultimately earning both master’s degrees in these subjects. Additionally, Henry is married to Wendy – an accountant working within the accounting industry for 15 years as both CPA/CGAs.
God led Henry and Wendy to respond to His call of cross-cultural mission work, so they headed off to China and Japan respectively, dealing with health issues before reaching Japan in July 2016 to serve. Both Henry and Wendy feel honored that others can partner with them either spiritually or financially – their prayers would be greatly appreciated!
Professional Career
Henry Chuang is an attorney recognized by Super Lawyers in 2023. He specializes in Real Estate: Consumer, Bankruptcy: Consumer and Business/Corporate matters. Additionally, Henry is a member of Santa Clara County Bar Association as well as licensed to practice in California.
He currently works at Diemer & Wei, LLP and assists clients with their legal matters. Additionally, he serves on Diemer & Wei’s Strategic Planning Committee, Diversity Committee and Board of Trustees; in addition to being co-chair of their SCCBA Bankruptcy Section.
As well as practicing law, Paul also coaches volleyball. He has worked as the head men’s and women’s coach of Saint Francis Division-I men’s team as well as four seasons as head men’s and women’s coach of TV Buehl in Germany where his teams won both Southern Germany championships as well as qualifying for second national division competition.
Achievement and Honors
Henry Chuang is an eminent businessman and generous scholarship donor. Together with his wife Yueh-Jing Chuang, they have established scholarships exclusively for students majoring in Human and Community Development studies.
Chuang brings with him extensive international head coaching experience. While at TV Buehl in Germany from 2001-2003, he guided both men’s and women’s teams to both Division 3 championship and promotion into second national division competitions.
Chuang has assisted players on his teams achieve high levels of individual achievement. For instance, he mentored Robert Bowling to win consecutive Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Awards as libero; All-Conference honors; and Keenan Freitas was recently recognized with Off the Block National Libero of the Year honors.
Personal Life
Henry Chuang lives with his wife Teresa and son in a quiet apartment. As lovers of modern design, they wanted a space that was both relaxing and accommodating of teenage daughter as well as overseas family visits. Thus several rooms were reconfigured such as their study – complete with bed-sized mahjong sofas! – and another bedroom turned into helper’s quarters.
Chuang joined Vassar College Women’s and Men’s Volleyball programs after spending four years as head men’s and head junior’s coach of TV Buehl in Germany, leading them to win both Division 3 championship and Relegation title and qualifying for second national division play.
As a graduate from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, California, he worked on junior club teams throughout northern and southern California before playing one season for University of California Santa Cruz. Later he attended law school at Emory University and passed the bar exam in 2005.
Net Worth
Chairing shipping, logistics and real estate firms. Through Far East Organization he developed hotels, malls and condominiums in Singapore; also holds an extensive Hong Kong portfolio which Robert oversees while Philip manages Singapore-related interests. Furthermore he donates generously to various charitable causes.
Started out trading fish and later took over his family seafood business before becoming a stockbroker. Established and held onto Wilmar stock; today he is second-largest shareholder. Also owns FJ Benjamin as distributor for chemicals and cosmetics.
Chang relocated from South Africa and now chairs Yantai Raffles Shipyard, one of Asia’s largest dry dock operators, as well as tug and barge operator Labroy Marine, surviving intact 2005 Asian tsunami intact and 289-foot Asean Lady which survived intact; also chairman of Australian real estate group AVJennings.
