Is Eva Longoria’s Son Deaf?
Eva Longoria’s son, Santiago Baston, is two years old and the mother of the boy has posted a couple of cute photos on her Instagram page. The two seem to be having a good time together and have also developed a nice nighttime routine.
In addition to her acting, producing and philanthropic endeavors, Longoria has been a big advocate for the Latino community. She is a member of the National Council of La Raza, a Latino advocacy organization that is the largest in the United States. And she’s a commissioner for the American Latino Commission.
Earlier this year, Longoria was appointed by President Obama as a national co-chair of the re-elect Obama campaign. But she’s also juggling a full slate of acting and producing jobs and a baby. Fortunately, she’s got a “village” of support.
Before becoming a mother, Longoria had a chance to act as a mom for Baston’s three children from a previous marriage. She says that she felt like a mom to all of them before her own child was born. One of her friends, Victoria Beckham, gave her advice when she was pregnant.
After her divorce from Tony Parker in November 2010, Longoria has been able to keep her career going. She recently signed a First Look development deal with NBC Universal. She’s filmed a couple of movies, including HARVEST, which explores the lives of child farm workers. Also, she’s working on a thesis for a Master’s degree in Chicano Studies/Political Science.
When Longoria was pregnant with her second child, she began to learn sign language. This way she could communicate with her fans who are deaf. During a recent interview, she said that she is “not shy” about sharing her life with those who are deaf.
Recently, she shared a video of herself and her son singing in the shower. They also showed off their dance moves in the video. A couple of days later, she filmed herself and her son singing a song in Spanish.
Although her baby is still not speaking, the mother and son appear to be in sync. They’re chatting, playing and listening to music. At one point, they even break an egg in the kitchen. All of this while wearing oversize shades to protect their eyes.
It’s been a busy month for Longoria and her son. While they’ve been spending time together, the couple has also traveled to Mexico City, where they met on a blind date. During this trip, they’ve had a lot of fun. Now, they’re in New Mexico city and enjoying their new surroundings.
As well as being a mom, Longoria has an extensive list of philanthropic efforts. She’s the international spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris, and she’s partnered with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALAD). Plus, she’s the host of the National Council of La Raza ALMA Awards.
The National Council of La Raza is an organization that works to protect the rights of all Latinos. That’s why Longoria was named a Commissioner for the American Latino Commission.
