Jack Everly – Conductor of the Pops
Jack Everly, an American conductor renowned across North America for his innovative pops programming, has conducted orchestras such as Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic and National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa).
He conducts the annual National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth on PBS. Additionally, he has recorded extensively and serves as guest conductor at orchestras across the country.
Early Life and Education
Everly vividly recalls his first orchestral experience. It happened as a child when his older brother Phil from Brownie, Kentucky brought their family for a concert in town.
Everly is widely recognized for his outstanding achievements as music director of the esteemed American Ballet Theatre for 14 years, where he collaborated closely with Marvin Hamlisch on Broadway shows while conducting Carol Channing hundreds of times during two different productions of Hello, Dolly!
Everly is currently serving as principal pops conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Naples Philharmonic Orchestra in Florida. Professional Career
Current positions he holds as Principal Pops Conductor include Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa) as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco Symphony orchestras and numerous appearances with The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.
Recently Everly completed his record 14 year tenure at the American Ballet Theatre as their Music Director. During that time he worked alongside Mikhail Baryshnikov in numerous Broadway productions as Hamlisch scored and conducted Carol Channing multiple times for Hello Dolly!.
Maestro Everly, who hails from Franklin College in Indiana where he studied music at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, has an Honorary Doctorate to his name. Maestro Everly lives proudly within Indianapolis community and spends much of his free time with family.

Additionally, he plays an instrumental role in ISO’s annual theatrical symphonic holiday concert, Yuletide Celebration.

Everly hails from Richmond and currently serves as principal pops conductor for the Indianapolis Symphony as well as music director of its Symphonic Pops Consortium. Additionally, this season he conducts orchestras such as Indianapolis, Detroit, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Naples Philharmonic Orchestras as well as Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa.
He served as music director for Mikhail Baryshnikov and American Ballet Theatre and conducted several world premiere productions.
