Early Life and Education
John Antonaros, who is a third-generation native of Kern County, is currently serving as the Chief of Staff for Supervisor Zack Scrivner. He is an avid volunteer in the community and is involved with the Rotary Club of Bakersfield West. A graduate of Bakersfield High School, he studied Spanish Literature in Spain and attended the University of California, Berkeley. Before moving to Bakersfield, he worked in the private sector in Arizona and California. His early life and education were influenced by his father, Dr. Peter Charles Mitchell, who instilled in him the value of hard work and education.
After completing his studies at the University of California, Berkeley, he spent some time teaching English at the El Centro Cultural Dominico Americano in Santiago, the Dominican Republic. In 2016, he was appointed to serve as an Assistant to Supervisor Zack Scrivner. Since then, he has been a key member of the Supervisor’s office.
Achievements and Honors
John Antonaros is a third generation native of Kern County. He attended Bakersfield High School, graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied Spanish Literature in Spain. After graduating, he worked in the private sector in California and Arizona. He later moved to the Dominican Republic, where he taught English at the El Centro Cultural Dominico Americano.
In 2014, John became the Chief of Staff for Supervisor Zack Scrivner, and he has continued to serve as an active member of the Kern County community. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Bakersfield West, and is actively engaged in the community. Previously, he served as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and has also been involved in the FDNY and other nonprofit organizations.
Personal Life
John Antonaros is a third generation native of Kern County. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Bakersfield West, and is the Chief of Staff for Supervisor Zack Scrivner. He is currently running for Trustee Area 3 of the Kern Community College District. If elected, he would be a great asset to the district.
Before his employment as a supervisor’s chief of staff, John spent many years in the private sector in Arizona, California, and the Dominican Republic. He studied Spanish Literature in Spain, and taught English at the El Centro Cultural Dominico Americano in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The symphony was a big part of his life, and he enjoyed making others laugh. Besides being a wonderful family man, John also liked to participate in the many organizations in the community. As a member of the American Legion and the Hellenic Square & Compass clubs, he contributed to many good causes.
