Early Life and Education
Early childhood education is an integral component of a child’s growth and development, lasting from birth until age eight. It can have a lasting influence on the lifelong outcomes that children will encounter.
Children’s brains develop rapidly during these years, so it is essential that they receive appropriate stimulation, support and nurture. Without these benefits, children often fall behind their peers in learning and social skills.
Therefore, UNESCO promotes quality pre-primary education as one of its Sustainable Development Goals. This crucial component of any country’s educational system contributes to social cohesion, gender equality and economic prosperity.
