Personal Life

A professional athlete with a strong background in strength and conditioning and athletic coaching, Hammersmith served as the first-ever full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach for FSU prior to the 2017-18 season. He has more than six years of experience implementing and overseeing training programs in the areas of athletic performance, sports medicine, weight management and injury prevention.

A 2013 Findlay graduate, Hammersmith served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Central Missouri following two years in a similar role at NCAA Division I Bowling Green State. In that position, he oversaw the training of 10 varsity sports as well as implemented and facilitated the introduction of Olympic-style lifting to the school’s varsity weight room.
