Early Life and Education
Early childhood education is essential for a child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development – as well as providing them with economic benefits for society. When it comes to educational development, strong family-school partnerships are key in providing children with the social emotional skills needed for school success. Quality early childhood education plays an integral role in creating these positive outcomes in both academics and society at large.
Thankfully, there are many renowned experts who have made significant contributions to early education. Some of them even pioneered some of our current teaching techniques!
Erikson’s psychosocial theory is one of the most influential, as it emphasizes supporting and encouraging children’s success at each psychosocial stage. This includes providing emotional support to kids as well as instilling positive self-confidence, respect for others, and an awareness of one’s own worth.
John Lagrutta was an impressive golfer with the balls to complete a round at Briar Creek Golf club. A proud graduate of Suffern High School class of ’92, he quickly rose to become an influential figure in New York state politics as well. A self-declared fanatic when it came to golf – even wearing proper attire on cold winter days in the northeastern corner. John had aspirations of becoming a PGA professional but ultimately ended up being content with being an excellent husband and father who loved family time as much as golf did; even if that didn’t materialize, John still put in effort towards reaching that goal.
