Born on August 19, 1958, in Ontario, California, Munoz began his career as a baseball player before transitioning to football. He excelled in both sports during his time at USC, where he helped the Trojans win a national championship in 1978.
He played left tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals in 1980. His bruising 6-foot-6, 278-pound frame gave him the agility and strength to block the most prolific edge rushers of his day.
He racked up eleven Pro Bowl berths and nine First-Team All-Pro selections during his career, making him one of the best offensive linemen in NFL history. He also made history by becoming the first Bengals player enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

He is the Chief Deputy Director of the Public Defender Office. He has been in this position since March of 2022 and is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the public defenders, investigators, and social workers in his office.
