Despite being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in eighth grade, John Neider went on to become an accomplished athlete. He’s a quarterback at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT and has signed a letter of intent to play for UConn.

He spent over 20 years at Atlantic Richfield, where he was an analyst and a manager in corporate finance, investor relations and investment management. He was a world traveler, and his professional accomplishments included meetings with officials in Alaska, London, Jakarta, Riyadh, Dubai and many other commercial centers around the globe.
Personal Life
Nider was a Dominican theologian, writer and reformer. He was born in Isny (Wurttemberg) and died in Nuremberg, August 13, 1438. He served as prior of a convent of strict observance at Basle from 1429 to 1436.
Unlike mystics, who spoke of man as he ideally should be and act in the mystical sense, fifteenth-century Dominicans often emphasized the practical morality of daily life, teaching men to struggle against temptation and to strive for union with God.
For the Dominicans, mysticism was no longer a spiritual attitude; it was a way of life, an essential part of religious discipline. They pleaded with their brethren to fight against relaxation, to cherish their vows and customs, to return to the ideals of their founder.
