John Queenan is a retired leader in the accounting profession and served on the first Financial Accounting Standards Board, creating accounting standards that still stand today.

He previously served as managing partner of an international accounting firm during its expansion phase. With extensive litigation experience across commercial, corporate and health care matters, he brings a unique perspective to these disputes.

Early Life and Education

John Queenan, born and raised in Woburn, enjoyed an active lifestyle. His interests ranged from football, baseball and basketball to music – which he loved with all of his heart.

John was an experienced businessman, having held various executive positions with Haskins and Sells of New York City throughout his career. Additionally, he served as a former member of the Federal Wage and Price Control Board.

He was the proud father of two daughters and the proud husband of 63 years, Alice Thomas – a Greenwich native who lived in Boston before moving to Tequesta, Florida. A dedicated family man and sports enthusiast, his other interests included antique clocks, golf and opera. Survived by his beloved wife and daughter, he leaves behind many fond memories.

John Queenan boasts an extensive professional background. As a litigator, he has extensive experience working on cases in New York City courts since beginning his career as a lawyer.

He is a partner in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation, Compliance, Investigations & White Collar; Directors & Officers Liability; and Health Services Practice Groups. He frequently appears before state and federal trial courts, appellate courts and administrative agencies (disciplinary, licensing & audit matters)

He has been involved in a number of high-profile and complex cases for clients. These include class action wage fixing antitrust suits with significant eDiscovery implications, Title VII claims regarding physician practice privilege terminations, construction disputes and breach of contract actions. Furthermore, he has represented clients on product liability and professional/engineering liability matters.

Achievements and Honors

John Queenan was an accomplished individual in several fields. He was an experienced attorney who focused on tax, corporate and international law. Additionally, John had an exemplary work ethic which served him well throughout his career.

He was involved in numerous organizations and had extensive experience working for the community. Furthermore, he dedicated himself to his family.

He enjoyed a close bond with his wife Jeanne (Driscoll), to which they had three children. Married for over 56 years, they shared an idyllic life together.

Personal Life

John Queenan was born and raised in Woburn’s Hammond Square area. He enjoyed sports all of his life and was an incredibly active individual. Furthermore, John was a loving father who treasured his daughter Amanda dearly.

He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Scarsdale, NY and an ardent reader with a deep faith in God.

He has been a satirist for years, often writing about movies and professional sports. His humorous style can be biting at times but always entertaining to read. He’s contributed to publications such as GQ, Movieline, Spy magazine among others.

Joe Queenan is an American author, journalist, satirist and critic. His nine books have been published, with his memoir Closing Time earning him a 2009 New York Times Notable Book nomination. His sharp wit has won him many admirers as well as success in the media – Joe has appeared on Movieline, TV Guide and Spy Magazine among others.

In addition to his writing career, he has made a fortune through stock trading. On average, he makes over 125 trades every five days since 2003 – his largest purchase being 2,000 units of Teledyne Technologies Inc stock on November 7th 2008 for $31,640. As of 25 February 2009 his net worth had grown to over $10 million; he currently resides in a residential property without children.
