He currently resides in Old Forge, Herkimer County, New York with his wife and two children. In his free time he enjoys traveling and has crossed the equator multiple times.

John Swick was a longstanding member of the Hiram community who achieved many remarkable successes throughout his career. He was recognized as an outstanding scholar and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, he was an active community leader. He was a member of the local Kiwanis club and generously supported numerous charitable organizations.
He was an inspiring teacher and caring mentor to students. At USD, he spearheaded the Educational Talent Search and Math & Science Initiative programs. Furthermore, he established Student Support Services–a program which assists students with academic issues.

John Swick’s drive to help others permeated every aspect of his life. As a chiropractor, he treated generations of families and developed relationships with people from all backgrounds.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as being heavily involved in his community. He was a proud member of the Welland Curling Club, Hit and Miss Hunt Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4 and Conservative Party of Ontario and Canada.
In addition to his profession, he took great pleasure in discovering the world through travel and foreign languages. He took his nieces and nephews on numerous excursions around the globe, becoming a member of Traveler’s Century Club for having visited over 100 countries.
