The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are critical for brain development and cognitive and socio-emotional maturation. Research indicates these formative years can also predict future success in the labor market.
Evidence is mounting to highlight the critical importance of early care and education during these formative years. By investing in ECE from infancy onwards, children will have a better chance at success later on, both personally and within their communities.
Research has demonstrated that attachment and social relationships between teachers, peers and caregivers are an integral part of early learning. These connections help children manage their emotions better and develop the necessary skillset for future successful interactions with adults.
