Oliver 1255 Owner’s Brochure

The brochure for P-135, published in 1973, consisted of eight pages and in color on an Oliver 2255 with Cat 3150 engine.

This tractor featured an innovative over/under transmission that fit inside a large flange on the main transmission, eliminating chain coupler issues typical of earlier Oliver tractors.

Early Life and Education

Sheila Oliver, MSW’76, became the first Black woman Democrat ever elected to a statewide office in New Jersey and second African-American female lieutenant governor nationally. As Speaker of the Assembly and Chairperson of Human Services Committee for New Jersey State Assembly, Sheila overseeing bills that impact low-income individuals, families and those suffering mental illness or addictions.

Goldie Celestine Hughes Oliver leaves behind her husband, Wayne (Robin) Oliver; children Vanessa Ward, Kevin Howard Oliver, Gregory Oliver, Lovelle King, Isaiah Oliver, Bethany Ward and Rachel Ward; sisters Sheila Smith and Lamar Love as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Dedicating nearly 40 years to Columbus City Schools system as a custodian, she was revered and appreciated for her hard work ethic; rarely missing a day of work.

Professional Career

Oliver worked as a customer service representative who answered calls from both internal and external customers while conducting research into customer records and systems to respond to inquiries. She provided statements to the Court from her co-workers praising her professional conduct.

TECO’s evidence demonstrates that Oliver was not capable of working effectively with others – an integral component of her job. Her disruptive, inappropriate, and unprofessional behavior persisted even after counseling, Positive Discipline sessions, and further training on professionalism.

TECO referred Oliver to its Employee Assistance Program when she told Wayne Guthrie of wanting to attack Denise Bernal. As directed by TECO, Dr. Wood performed a fitness for duty evaluation on Oliver and determined she had Bipolar Disorder with recent episodes of hypomania.

Achievement and Honors

The College of Pathologists annually honors outstanding achievements in blood and transfusion medicine with the Percy Lane Oliver Memorial Award, selected by an expert panel and awarded at SHOT Symposium each November. Oliver has also been honored by numerous organizations and made history when New Jersey governor Phil Murphy appointed her commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs – making history by becoming the first Black Democrat ever appointed to this post! Personal Life

Oliver was married to Goldie Celestine Hughes and left behind son Wayne (Robin) Oliver and daughter Vanessa Ward as well as several grandchildren. A longstanding member of Columbus City Schools where he held various custodial jobs; never missing a day of work with pride in each day of service he provided.

Sacks was an icon who effortlessly blended science, art and storytelling together into one sublime experience. His life served as an inspiration to everyone he encountered; many will miss seeing him perform live. May you rest in peace, Professor Sacks.
