Recent Car Accidents in Burley Idaho
If you’ve been around the block a few times, you’ve probably heard about the numerous car accidents that have hit the Idaho area. A few of the most notable involve multiple people being injured. These accidents were particularly harrowing because several of the victims were children. As a result, law enforcement officials were on the scene to help the victims get to and from the hospital. In addition to the emergency responders, several local businesses also helped to aid the crash victims in the immediate aftermath.
The largest and most well-known car accident in recent memory took place in the town of Burley. This was a multi-car collision that involved a box truck that was driving in the left shoulder lane. When the box truck came to a stop, it collided with several vehicles in the opposite lane. While the driver of the box truck was able to make a successful recovery, the other drivers were taken to local hospitals with injuries. One child was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, while the other child was flown to Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.
Other recent car accidents in the region include a two-car collision on US 12 near the Arrow Bridge. The vehicle that won the award for the largest single car crash in Idaho was a black Subaru Forester that stayed on the scene until law enforcement officials could get there. It was a large enough incident that the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Thankfully, the two people that were transported to local hospitals were not seriously hurt. However, one child was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Additionally, there were other minor injuries reported as well. At least one of the cars was a Toyota Prius. There were also three other vehicles on the scene, including a Honda Pilot, a Chevrolet Cruze, and a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Despite the fact that a car crash is never fun, it’s important to be prepared for the unfortunate event. One thing you can do to ensure you don’t become a victim is to be informed about the various safety measures in place. Some of these measures are merely precautionary while others are more of a warning to other drivers. Also, it’s a good idea to know the speed limit for your area. Although the statewide speed limit is 65 mph, you may want to adjust your travel speed a little higher when it’s raining or snowing.
The other thing to remember is that you need to make sure you have adequate insurance coverage. Whether you’re shopping for a new policy or looking to switch companies, be sure to shop around for the best rate. Insurance rates will vary depending on your age, driving history, and city or county. Using an online tool can make the process easier. You’ll also want to be aware of what insurance providers can offer you in your zip code.
