Rotarian David Daigle

Daigle was an active Rotarian who dedicated his life to serving others. He was involved with numerous community groups, but his most lasting contribution was his involvement with Rotary International.

Daigle has also achieved success in the music industry, with his song “You Say” spending 100 weeks on Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart.

Early Life and Education

David Daigle was raised in a military family. His father served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, and during that time they moved around various bases across Nebraska, Oklahoma, upstate New York, Florida and Puerto Rico.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and an master’s in business administration from St. Joseph’s University.

He is the Chairman of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees and an ex officio member of the UVM Foundation Board of Directors. Additionally, he works as a partner and portfolio manager at Capital Group, a financial services firm. Together with his wife Beth, they have donated $1 million towards building a multipurpose center at UVM. Currently living in Greenwich, Connecticut with their three children, they remain actively involved in their church community.

Professional Career

David daigle has had an illustrious professional career spanning nearly 30 years. As associate director for communication in CDC’s Office on Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR), he oversees communication efforts to keep people safe from disease outbreaks. Before joining CDC, daigle served as tank officer in the Army and English professor and public affairs officer at Michigan State University.

Daigle has 18 years of investment experience as a fixed income portfolio manager at Capital Group, the eponymous company’s entry in the same name. His impressive list of accomplishments also includes being an astute business owner and co-manager of their coveted Global High Income Opportunities fund. Daigle has earned national recognition for his dedication to conservation and sustainable agriculture. Through a partnership with USDA NRCS and the Calcasieu Soil and Water Conservation District, he has developed an integrated resource management system that includes stewardship practices such as prescribed burning, grazing management and forest stand improvements that provide habitat for endangered wildlife species.

He is the recipient of the Louisiana Association of Conservation Districts’ producer award.

Furthermore, he served as public information officer for CDC and an important spokesperson in their emergency response efforts in Indiana and Lagos, Nigeria. This required extensive media engagements, quick thinking and exceptional instincts.

Personal Life

David Daigle is an acclaimed and successful businessman. He founded and served as president of charter operator Tridair Helicopters, as well as being instrumental in the construction of CenterPort – the world’s largest private heliport.

He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Dracut and involved in many community activities. Known for his “service above self” attitude, he lived by Rotary’s four-way test: is it true; fair; will it build goodwill; and beneficial to all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eloise (Pelletier) Daigle and five children. Additionally, he leaves behind eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A dedicated husband and devoted family man, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
