Sheldon Stein has served as President of Southern Glazer’s since 2010. Previously, he was Vice Chairman of Global Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and lead adviser for Glazer’s Distributors.

Early Life and Education

Sheldon Stein is President of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, one of the world’s largest alcohol beverage wholesalers. In 2016, he led the merger between Southern Wine & Spirits and Glazer’s Distributors that saw this company reach unprecedented levels of success within their industry. As President, Sheldon has played an instrumental role in its rise to the top.

He has written songs that have been recorded by numerous artists, such as the New Christy Minstrels, Judy Collins and Bobby Bare. Additionally, one of his songs “In the Hills of Shiloh” featured prominently in the 1970 film Ned Kelly starring Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson.

Throughout her acting career, she appeared in comedic and horror/science fiction films. Most notably she played Bernice from Joan Micklin Silver’s 1976 film Bernice Bobs Her Hair as well as making an appearance in Woody Allen’s Annie Hall later that same year.

Professional Career

She was featured in several family-oriented and comedic movies such as Home Fries in 1998 where she played Mrs. Jackson, Drew Barrymore’s character’s mother. Additionally, she appeared in Suburban Commando and horror flick Changing Habits.

Shelley has over two decades of experience as a mental health counselor and therapist, employing an eclectic therapy approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation Practices, Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT), as well as teaching workshops/group sessions in corporations/groups/agencies. She offers services to both individuals, couples and teaches workshops directly.

Stein was instrumental in the 2016 sale of the Texas Rangers to a group led by Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan, overseeing this transaction while working at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She now serves as president of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits – one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of alcohol.

Sheldon Stein has over three decades of experience as both a health care executive and investment banker, currently serving as President of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital since 1995. This facility, co-owned by Johns Hopkins Medicine and University of Maryland Medical System, is recognized as an industry leader for children’s healthcare with locations in Baltimore City, Prince George’s County and Harford County, plus Telehealth services.

Stein was instrumental in orchestrating the merger that created Southern Glazer’s, now one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of wine and spirits. Additionally, as vice chairman of global investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch he served as Glazer’s Distributors’ lead advisor while working closely with their executive and supplier teams on numerous strategic fronts.

Sheldon Stein is an avid golfer who resides in Sarasota, Florida with his wife. Together they have three children.
