Early Life and Education
Steven Wilner was raised in a family of educators. Both his parents were professors at UCLA. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Tufts University respectively before going on to work with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton law firm.
At an early age, he learned to play piano. Later, his interest in ragtime music led to studies at high school level; later still, seeing pianist Peter Martin perform inspired him to learn jazz music.
Esther Sacks-Wilner dedicated herself to serving her community through work at Deborah Hospital, Greenwood House and Sisterhood of Adath Israel. Additionally, she believed that Holocaust education can create an atmosphere in which hatred and prejudice diminish.
Professional Career
As a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, Wilner represents individuals and businesses in complex litigation cases relating to commercial litigation, real estate disputes and construction claims, professional negligence as well as professional negligence claims.
He is an active speaker on all aspects of Real Estate Law and co-authors several articles related to this field. Additionally, he lectures frequently on other subjects, such as international transactions laws and ethics.
Eugenia graduated from Jeffersonville High School and the University of Louisville. While supporting her husband’s medical internship and residency by working in hospital labs and x-ray departments, Eugenia also was active volunteering at many community organizations and Grace Presbyterian Church where she was a founding member. Eugenia leaves five daughters behind including Carrieanne, Ashley Nicole and Stevielynn.

Wilner is not only a successful actress; she is an active philanthropist as well. She supports various charities and has raised money for organizations like Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Additionally, Wilner performs cabarets around New York City as well as has recorded albums.
Wilner is a member of the American Law Institute and holds both an undergraduate degree from Tufts University (cum laude) and JD degree from New York University School of Law. Additionally, she works at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton as an attorney.
Willner is also the Steven and Kathryn Sample Chaired Professor of Engineering at USC Viterbi. His research has focused on optical technologies with over 1000 publications to his name; OSA Fellow as well as serving on its Optics Letters and Optical Fiber Telecommunications V and VI editorial boards and Editorial Boards of several other journals.

He is a principal in our Firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group and boasts significant trial experience both state and federal courts of the United States.
He and his family managed to escape Hurricane Dorian by hiding in kitchen cabinets. Once in America, he worked as an Uber driver and food delivery person while also opening his own patio screen repair business in Florida. Over time his talents were discovered by an esteemed inventor, who enlisted his services as a singer of reggae music at his house.
